PickTure expands the "Open" dialog box of _any_ application to show a scrolling list of miniature pictures (thumbnails) of your files. These thumbnails are created automatically as you work with your files. From the "Open" dialog box, you can open a file by double clicking on its thumbnail. PickTure's ability to create thumbnails is not limited to any specific file format; if an application can open a document PickTure can create a thumbnail for it. PickTure works on any Mac—black & white or color, and it runs under both System 6 and System 7.
PicktureDemo Installation Notes & Info.
Installing PicktureDemo:
1. If you are a System 6 user, drag the PicktureDemo file to your System folder. System 7 users should put the PicktureDemo file in the Control Panels folder of your System folder and place the PicktureDesk Demo application in the Apple Menu Items folder (also in your System folder). PicktureDesk Demo is only used under System 7.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Open the PicktureDemo Control Panel. A dialog box containing instructions on what to do will appear.
Note that the commercial version of Pickture is about two times smaller than PicktureDemo. The difference is due to the Demo related help information.
PicktureDemo 1.1 Notes:
• Using PickTure and ShortCut™ or Directory Assistance™
On small Mac screens (Plus/SE size), there is not enough room for PickTure and these utilities in the Open dialog box. You can still use them together with a screen enlarger utility.
• Using PickTure with SilverPlatter™
If SilverPlatter loads after PickTure at startup, PickTure
will not work. Rename PickTure or SilverPlatter so that SilverPlatter loads before PickTure.
• Using PickTure with Tempo II™
If Tempo II loads after PickTure at startup, PickTure
will not work. Rename PickTure or Tempo II so that Tempo II loads
before PickTure.
• With some programs, if you use "Save as..." repeatedly saving many copies of the same file, only the last file save will have a miniature attached.
